Beginner’s courses

Our beginner’s courses are structured to teach you the basics of archery. You will learn about the equipment, how to handle your bow and arrows, range etiquette, and how to prevent injury. Our coaches are qualified with Archery SA. The course runs over three consecutive Saturdays, and is a prerequisite for becoming a member.

  • Accredited coaches
  • Equipment is provided
  • Family fun
How much does the course cost?

The course costs $120, however if you have a sports voucher you can offset the cost of the course with this. Please ask prior to enrolment on the enquiry form.

Can children participate?

Generally children can participate around 10 years, but age is not limiting. It is dependant on the child’s strength to lift the bow and pull it back, their hand size to hold the bow, and their general maturity to listen and carry out instructions. If in doubt feel free to come to club between 9-12 Saturday and we can check.

I have already bought a bow, can I bring it and use it?

We prefer you initially use our equipment so we can ensure it’s right for you and you have good technique. You are free to bring your equipment and we can assess its suitability for you going forward.

I tried to enrol but it was sold out – can I go on a wait list?

Yes, please feel free to contact us on secretary@barossaarcheryclub.org.au

Can I use a sports voucher?

You certainly can! Please use the contact form below to enquire about off-setting the cost of a beginners course with your sports voucher.
